Contact Danny Fingeroth. And no, this does NOT mean that I believe Mr. Fingeroth is responsible, but I have no doubt that he is knowledgeable about the situation & if he's willing to be interrogated by a couple of Detractors, then you'll get your answers there.

And for anyone who is thinking of asking me who I believe is responsible, my non-answer is I don't care. What I do care about is that someone (OTHER than JB) screwed up what could have potentially been another cool interview with JB.

Detractors want to play Spin Doctor, as usual, and that's fine by me as it provides the usual comedy.

If i commissioned jb to do this drawing, i'd have a hard time saying that I was compeletly satisfied. That's not Spidey's costume. The legs don't go on continuously from front to back. It looks like the charlie brown version of spidey's black suit. Unless this is what the customer asked for.

Not my favorite. But I am not a fan of any of the various characters.

Maybe Peter was on vacation and the role was played by Arnold Horshak

I guess what churns my stomach the most is that no one and I mean no goddam one on that board has mentioned this. Not even the newbies that seem to have a tiny bit of balls is touching this. Paul--would you please point this out to jb and ask him whattup with the zigzag design? Maybe it's not even spidey but everyone is too ignorant to see this.

Q for JB:
Don't you think you've ignored Jodi Moisan enough?
She asked you a simple question here:
http://www.byrnerobotics.com/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=37920&PN=1&TPN=2
and yet you ignore her and I think you've ignored her since her triumphant return to your board. Whaddaya say eh? Cut her some slack and at least acknowledge her. I hope you didn't put her on ignore or something. I think you and I both know she was having her period at the time she told you off all those months ago. I'm sure you go by the old motto "never trust anything that bleeds for 5 days out of the month" just like I do. But hey--she's fine now. If you were smart and I know you are, you'd log the calendar next time she flares up so you can gauge when she's flowing and curb your opinion to the way she wants for 5 days can't you?

Let's review...

Someone starts a thread with a link to an upcoming issue of Draw! featuring a Byrne cover.

Byrne points out that the cover was a commission piece and he wonders if the owner's permission had been obtained in order to use the piece as a cover. Byrne also states that he really hates it when people take his pencil drawings and have them inked by others without his consent. He explains this is why he no longer consents to doing pencil commissions. He further adds that he'd been contacted by Danny Fingeroth to do an interview for the magazine a while ago but he'd heard nothing more about this.

A few posts later, Byrne announces that he placed a couple of phone calls and got the piece removed as the cover. TwoMorrows removes the image from their website.

The thread disappears.

Byrne starts a new thread in which he announces that he will no longer be giving interviews. (He also will no longer be flying to the moon on a unicorn.)

This is all the information on this situation that could've been obtained from these two threads. To reach THIS conclusion...

...You're either 1) privy to additional information or 2) making stuff up.

Ugh! What the Hell is THAT? Spider-Man is a smoldering mess in the middle of this thing!

1. Spidey's head is a light bulb.

2. Spidey's neck is obscenely long. Remember! That collar is in a foreshortened view! Just where is that neck attached?

3. Spidey's torso is also unbelievably long.

4. I don't know for sure if the spider legs on Spidey's black costume connect like that or not, but if that's the effect you're going to get from that angle, I'd choose a different angle!

5. Why is Kraven squatting as though he were going to drop a load on that roof?

6. I really wish Byrne would learn once and for all that the developed musculature on the human upper leg does NOT form a weird "X" pattern.

7. With everything going on up on the roof, what is J. Jonah looking at?

8. The backgrounds are nice.

9. Fred Chamberlain had this to say... "I'm not usually one for hyperbole when looking at pieces online, but HOLY $#!@%!#%, THIS PIECE IS MINDBLOWING!!! One of my faves of all time. The shading. The poses, placement of characters.... beautiful, John. Truely beautiful."

Really, Fred? Really?
