I assume that's true.

I was responding to Stephen Bissette's comments, above. Stephen said, "Like many of my old cronies, Ger loathes talking about what he did, and now really has a strong reaction to even considering drawing. It's sad, but typical for many; I've seen it with many pros. This industry, even under what fans/readers would consider 'best circumstances,' really can take it out of you."

Over the years, at comics conventions, I've met a number of old pros who no longer were actively working in the industry. Sometimes they wished they were; other times, they had moved on to do something else. But they seemed to feel a residual fondness for the comic book world in general. These aren't the people to whom I refer.

I like Gerhard's work. I wonder if I have any Gerhard bricks sketched in any of my Cerebus issues...

I would have liked to see how the two guys worked together. What was there process, to see how it functioned.

Wow, three pages of a much longer interview. Amazing.

And madget, that full-page picture of Lord Storms'end looking out the window at sunrise is the one I was thinking of. You can see the f*cking colors reflected off that glass, and he had to draw over Dave's art to do it.

That's a great interview! Gerhard is incredibly gracious in his praise of Dave and his work. And the description of how they worked together to blend their art is fascinating.

Oh my God there's more!

I'm not even done with part II yet, and this is amazing

Kudos to The Comics Journal and Sean Michael Robinson, many kudos indeed.

I had no idea Cerebus had such detailed pages. That's great artwork. I was reading an old Epic Illustrated issue and saw backgrounds: Gerhard, and thought that it was Moebius' alias.
