I don't know, NIN, Aphex Twin and many others made some pretty popular and quite memorable videos. Bjork has many wonderful examples. There are also collections from the likes of Michel Gondry, Spike Jonze and others who made their names off of music videos, all after 1986, before going into films. I'd probably suggest that the artform got better after MTV's heyday.
(Also, I'd be surprised if Van Hagar didn't make more videos than Van Halen.)

Sure, that argument could be made. The market for the 3-minute music video dried up as MTV gave up more of their brodcast day to faux-reality programming and game shows. The line between music video and film got increasingly blurry, which is probably a good thing. NIN's "Closer" is definitely memorable. But more memorable than Captain Lou Albano in "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun" or the dancing chickens in "Sledgehammer"? I don't think so. The profile of the girl's ass as she turns away in Huey Lewis' "If This is It" video is a stronger visual than a black & white side of beef.
And the shadow of Cy Curnin's hand is more memorable than anything Van Hagar ever did.

(Also, I'd be surprised if Van Hagar didn't make more videos than Van Halen.) That would be iffy. They released more singles per album - presumably each single had a video - but they did fewer albums with popularity-seeking Sammy, and none at all for their first album with him, middle-of-the-road behavior for rock stars in 1986, I'm sure. The Van Hagar videos I've seen were basic performances, "Right Now" being the only exception that comes to mind. "Poundcake" had half-naked chicks, but there's no comparison with "Hot For Teacher" or "Jump". Those still got regular airplay when I was watching MTV, anytime they looked back to their "classic" years. I don't think I've ever seen a video from OU812 and until the Youtube link above, I'd never seen one from "Balance". [Actually, I probably have seen videos from OU812, considering how much MTV I watched back in the day, but they weren't very memorable. I don't have a clue what was in the "Top of the World" or "Runaround" videos, and I know I saw those a lot when they were new. Googling their "Video Hits", dating from the first reunion, it looks like the large majority of their videos were with Sammy.]

Yeah, but how about Obama's SEAL raid on Pakistan, huh? Pretty ballsy.

Chris is in the uncomfortable position of secretly wishing that Osama bin Laden had escaped.

Do you have any evidence for that?

AP Wire: Al Qaida passes over Ayman al-Zawahiri as new leader, opts instead for Sammy Hagar. Uh oh, we're dead.

Do you have any evidence for that? Set me straight! Tell me how much you admire President Obama's decision to go ahead with the raid.

I admire the decision more than I admire him saying "Qaddaffi must go" seven weeks ago, when he promised our involvement would be days, not weeks, or weeks, not months.
I admire the decision more than when the American held hostage by Somali pirates escaped and the SEALs could have shot the motherfuckers then and there, but Obama hadn't given them the kill order.
I admire the decision more than when he said "the world is watching" as the Iranian mullahs gunned down demonstrators in the streets (much the way Qaddaffi and Assad) which let them proceed merrily on with gunning down demonstrators in the streets.
I admire the decision more than his big speech in Cairo about how his middle name was "Hussein" so everything would be all better now.
I admire the decision more than the way he's hung a long-time ally out to dry, despite the huge war that all its neighbors are blatantly preparing for. You never know when a Jew might be planning construction. Got to keep a tight grip on those people.
I admire the decision more than when he slept on it for sixteen hours - according to one of the dozens of versions we've heard - despite how many times important missions have been compromised by delays of much less than sixteen hours.
I don't admire the decision as much as his actions in prosecuting the war overall. Gitmo, military tribunals, wiretaps, rendition, attacking countries that didn't attack us with drones or boots on the ground, GWB did these things for a good reason. Obama got elected opposing them, and has never had to explain himself to the people who voted for him when he flip-flopped.
Otherwise I'm glad that, like the Joker, Dr. Doom and the Green Goblin, there's another supervillain we'll never have to worry about again.

I admire the decision more than Only six words in before Weemie stamps his foot and pouts and makes it clear that no matter what, he will never ever just give Obama an unambiguous compliment. Nothing he does, even killing Osama bin Laden, can make you happy. You're a sad, bitter little boy, Weemie. And you just proved Lawson was right.
