I like the poem, though that looks like it'd be a doozy to put into one page..not to mention if I were to draw it, I'd probably would have to look up some references on that period or the war in question...

I was scrolling through Ness's poem and the one that sticks out to me as a comic I'd like to draw is "And You think your Job is tough."

That one I could have fun with. I'd need to ask Ness more questions about the Democracy one to get a starting point on the breakdowns..

Script? I'm not seeing a script anywhere. And Hunter is still missing the point.

Good point, unless Ness wants to take a crack at breaking the poem down into a script, whoever does the pencils should probably get a writing credit, with an "Adapted from a poem by..."

No I'm not.

I already assumed that I'd have to break it down and script it before I pencilled it and that Allen would be inking it.

I figured that Ness's poems could be open to a little bit of interpretation and we could have fun with it. I like the Democratic one, but think two pages would be awesome for it.

The Tough Job one? I'm already getting an idea I think will work for it. I'll try and break some stuff tonite and post it here for people to weigh in with thoughts and suggestions.

If I can break the Democracy one down into one page, I'll do that as well.

Hey Ness, your poem has me intrigued. I didn't even know what a hoplite was, so is this the same battle?

Here's my plot breakdown.

"Charon walks up the shore of the beach, leaving his boat behind.
P.O.V of Charon mostly as he walks towards a large bonfire with multiple partiers.
It’s a rave party and most of the participants are shadowed figures with modern day raver attire, but only a few accessories are actualy drawn in light. Think ipod commercials.
No one seems to notice Charon as he walks amongst the dancers.
Charon walks past the bonfire itself and a particular annoying dancer complete with pacifier in his mouth dances in front of Charon.
Charon touches him on the shoulder, the kid bursts into flames.
Charon walks away, we see a wide bony smile in the darkness of his hood, while the flaming raver falls over dead in front of shocked partiers.
BBQ."

I could use a letterer to put Ness's poem in a series of caption boxes throughout this page. I'm thinking it'd be about six panels.

Anyone? Joe?
