Oh, is that still pending? I thought that already came out.

I've seen some pages online. It's basically Miller's middle-aged Batman and sexy teen sidekick Catgirl from DARK KNIGHT 2, leaping from rooftop to rooftop. Their costumes are modified just barely enough to maybe keep DC's lawyers from suing.

Presumably at some point, Batman punches Osama bin Laden in the mouth.

Only a few months after U.S. special forces actually killed the man in real life.

It is out today, and I think maybe you could read it before shitting all over it.

Now, I am not saying it is great, or anything, I haven't read it. I am running the PR piece on my blog for the PR firm for the publisher.

But it is way more money than I have. So I'll have to wait for others who have READ it to tell me if it is good.

Miller got my money on DARK KNIGHT RETURNS 2.

I saw Holy Terror in the store today, shelved right next to Craig Thompson's new book, Habibi. Habibi is a complex, sympathetic portrayal of Muslim characters grappling with issues of morality and survival. It seemed like the polar opposite of Miller's blockheaded revenge fantasy of pseudo-Batman punching Muslims in the face. The juxtaposition of the two books was the strongest possible advertisement for one or the other, for making a choice either way. I chose Habibi.

Seriously, I had been thinking that maybe I would wait a while until Habibi came out in paperback, or was otherwise discounted, before buying it. And I had been interested in giving Holy Terror a look, maybe getting it at some point. But seeing them together, it suddenly became important to me to choose, right then, what I was going to support with my comics-buying dollars. I guess I kinda tricked myself, but I don't regret my decision or the statement that it made.

The Blankets crybaby did a Muslim comic? Eh, boy. I'm sensing another Instant Critical Hit Which Dare Not Be Criticized.

The preview I found for it is about some tranny monastery or something.
