Their brand of leadership can't withstand the scrutiny of the information age. Too much data out there, available to everyone via the Internet, contradicts the entire R platform. The only footholds they maintain are the ability to spew soundbyte "bumper sticker" slogans, and that they can also point to corruption on the D side (wherein D's are bribed to conform to R principles).

Perry said something kind of reasonable about immigration, it was the stuff about in-state tuition for American born children of illegal immigrants. It was a pretty liberal leaning policy, (lefter than many moderates even) and might have balanced out enough of the crazy, to have got him some left and moderate votes in the actual general election, but nope, his party turned on him for it. Didn't even cut him a bit of slack, or grant him the credibility due for being a border governor.

The President of the United States used to mean something way back when say Nixon or later now it's who can save the world none of these guys thats for sure.

And it looks like we finally got it. The day after Prop-8 was struck down, no less.

Romney certainly does seem to be drowning in Santorum.

Oh, Romney will still likely get the R nom, but it's nice to see him having to fight so hard to get it.
