Democrats are voting down the jobs bill already, and Obama was saying 'now' ages ago. Unless there are millions and millions of voters like Allen who are always at war with Eurasia, Obama is a one-termer.

The Republican contenders all understand that this will be more than a marathon. All of them have taken serious hits but none of them show any signs of quitting. The winners will probably fill the cabinet with the other contenders and it's too soon to tell who's going to be the first to fall out. They're as likely to fail first as to be the final candidate.

With the jobs bill dead, the only real show on the domestic front is the Republican primary season. None of the "reports" or polls mean anything until after that is over. I almost said "decided," but it's already decided.

2014, except for the pre-existing condition thing which takes effect fiscal year 2012. Insurance companies changed up their shit in 2011 to try and make the president look bad. I don't know what to tell you to try and fight it. Maybe someone else will have some helpful tips. I left my corporate job in July and am no longer covered by their policy (which also turned to shit in 2011), but recently found out I'm eligible for VA medical.

Sending a couple hundred advisors to assist our allies is not war. I realize this form of economical operation is upsetting to you, as it is highly unlikely these bare-bones deployments will need do-nothing supply flunkies like yourself.

Which really just goes to show how stupid they all are.

Are the right-wingers mad because Obama got us involved in Libya ... or because he didn't get us involved enough?

I've heard it both ways, sometimes interchangeably from the same speaker in the same rant, like ChrisW.

They were mad that we were doing anything in Libya. They also were mad that we weren't taking the lead, we simply were giving support to the Libyan rebels.

How can you be mad about both?

Especially when it ended up as it did?

I just asked my right wing brother-in-law that question over the weekend.

And I think he accidentally gave me the real answer. At one point out of sheer frustration, when I kept asking him about the contradictory criticism, he eventually got so frustrated he said everything Obama does is wrong.

He later brought up the birther crap again and went on to say all the Occupy "mobs" were somehow both trust fund kids with nothing better to do AND poor people who should just go get jobs for god's sake. He literally said, "Go get a job," when the tv screen flashed a picture of the crowds.

And you can't argue with the guy that the crowds are diverse, and unemployed people are frustrated because they've been looking for jobs, but often can't keep or find any. He knows the truth because he knows one of the protesters personally to be a son of an acquaintance, who he says is a whiney trust fund kid. So the whole crowd must be?

How can Obama be wrong on both sides of an argument? Just like the rest of this crap, FOX news has let these guys believe in a world they want to believe in. Were a man can be a socialist, and a communist, christian, muslim, kenyan terrorist, and is destroying our country by being ineffectual against a republican congress.

I wonder what the history books will say about Obama's Presidency when it's all said and done?

Nobody wants to pick that up? Reagan had a bipartisan vote of Congress and state-of-the-art (for the time) USAF/Special Forces, but he didn't have the approval of the French, the United Nations or the international Left.

Twenty-five years later, does this constitute a learning curve? Is there any praise for Reagan's foresight and recognition that the War Powers Clause forbids the killing of people who really need to die if it furthers US interests? It would have been worth killing him earlier, but he was in league with the Soviets.

The answer to this thread is obviously 'yes, we can just fire off random missles at Libya.'
