Here's one to watch as Byrne takes a few swings at Art Adams:

As in Poor Fred's disastrous Amazing Fantasy 15 thread, Lee Nail is on hand championing the unpopular point of view. I suspect he and Jesse Hamm might not be long for the JBF!

Whoever said it, the quote can be considered on its own merit. As I said, I've always dismissed it but Byrne has really done his best to live up to it.

That research is probably being done in the waiting room of a dentist's office.

Therein lies YOUR problem (as with many a detractor) with conclusion jumping & then believing said conclusions against all sense & logic.

Not surprising that you edit something that was indicated as summed up & only show the part that helps your agenda.

Fogged eyes, as I said.

LOL!

Poor Fred...

As far as your predictive powers...ever hear the term hedging a bet? If nothing comes of your intuitive predictions you'll say nary a word (of significance), but if something even approaches what you predict, you get all Spanish (Sí! Sí!).

Fortunately, I don't see much Spanish out of you. Comedy fools gold is what you usually provide.

That's classic Byrne avoidance. Dismiss the criticism. Never ask yourself the tough questions. Where does this perception come from? Is there anything to it? Nah! It's always the other guy!

I'm drawing a conclusion based on the impression Byrne is leaving me with. Maybe he is a raging genius but he sure isn't coming off that way. His tactics all scream "POSER!"

It was an empty suit of an argument... the sort of thing that Intro To Philosophy 101 students would find cliched. If there was a line that would've made me say, "Oh wow! John Byrne is right! There is no God!" I must've missed it.

Poor Fred...

Poor Fred had Nathan Greno pile on Byrne's boorishness with this backhanded congratulations:

I have a copy of AF #15 that I can open and read and it makes me happy to do so. I feel sorry for anyone that owns the same comic but can only stare at the cover. The end.

Best of luck, Fred -- Glad you got a copy! smile

Real classy, Nate! If it weren't sincere, that post would be a perfect parody of the whole thread.

The more commissions he gets to buy and show off, the more comfortable he seems to get in the House of Byrne with his comments that dance the line of annoying. JB
and his fellow board members. He either glows with pride and showers jb with praise with the detailed sketches he buys, makes quippy unfunny comments or condescends folk. A true Byrne Victim. The son becomes the father and all that

Nothing wrong with CONSTRUCTIVE criticism. It's the criticism presented with maliciousness & ignorance that I don't condone.

This can be said of anyone posting on the Internet, especially those that hide behind screen names. I suggest you not try to paint with such a broad brush.

In any case, JB certainly does not try to present himself as any sort of genius (not seriously). I don't know where this conclusion comes from. As I said before, he does his research. Yes, he drops names all the time, but this is not a bad thing.

Very close-minded of you...as expected.

Not as old as what I react to.
