You take Gitmo, the government stuffs all the detainees at your old place. Haven't those detainees suffered enough?!

What, they'll love it. Especially the cold weather. Snow Boarding will break up the monotony.

"When you're campaigning, I think you're liberated to say things..."One such example in the book–which is, by the way, so relentlessly positive toward President Obama that it reads like a series of letters the president wrote to himself to buck up his spirits–comes when the president realizes his campaign promises on Guantanamo and detainee policy were foolhardy now that he has all the information. One day, the president brought in a group of law professors and civil liberties activists to meet with him, in the hope they would criticize him there in private and not do so publicly:
But Obama didn’t pull his punches. “When I was a senator running for office, I talked very firmly about what I thought was right based on the information I had,” Vince Warren, of the Center for Constitutional Rights, recalled the president saying. “Now I’m the president of all the people, and the decisions I make have to be from that perspective based on the information I now have.” His face emotionless, he told his guests that he was considering an indefinite detention policy, allowing authorities to hold certain suspects without charges. It was an “Oh my God moment,” one guest said later.

Kinda like when we had Democrats in congress who were against the Iraq War Resolution but when the Bush admin gave them private info they changed their tune saying they were privy to information the general public is not, therefore, they were going to vote in favor of the Iraq War Resolution. But really, they probably didn't want to look soft on the war on terror.
Same thing with Obama. He doesn't want to do anything that will jeopardize his reelection chances, nor hurt his party. Apparantly the NDAA has alot of military funding attached to if so he vetoed it, Republicans would use that against him. As my Democrat friend said, "he had no choice."

You don't serve your purpose well by quoting Jodi Kantor. Her book isn't very, shall we say, factual.

Same thing with Obama. He doesn't want to do anything that will jeopardize his reelection chances, nor hurt his party. Obama's done an awful lot to hurt his party. There's a reason Democrats who want votes aren't waiting to be seen in public with him. Other than the obvious one, I mean.

Obama's done an awful lot to hurt his party. It is to fucking laugh. Obama's done no damage to the Democratic party, other than in the minds of people who vote straight ticket Republican. The teatards, on the other hand, have put the R brand on the fast track to extinction.

In fairness, Chris might have voted for a Democrat who was white, stupid and a Republican.
