The Comicon wrestling thread is like the Undertaker...you can burn it, blow it up, or bury it alive, but it still comes back smile

Are you going to Wrestlemania, Frank? Should be a great show with the 25th edition. The Hall of Fame ceremony should be a special one. No names yet, of course, but Steve Austin is the heavily rumored "headliner" with it being in Texas. I could see the Funks, Von Erichs, Blanchards, Paul Bosch, Stan Hansen and Bruiser Brody, as other possibilties. You can probably come up with some names that I'm forgetting. Rich wrestling history in the Lone Star State...

God. How the fuck did I forget about Paul Boesch ? Man, Houston Wrestling on Saturday nites (and again on Sunday mornings) ruled my world for years.

I remember one Christmas when Dad got us our first Tickets to the matches at the Sam Houston Coliseum . That day we saw Hacksaw Jim Duggan take on Dr. Death Steve Williams.

On the undercard were these two no names called the "Blade Runners", Rock and Sting. Rock later went on to become the Dingo Warrior, then the Ultimate Warrior. Sting is some guy who now wrestles on TNA wrestling.

Man, I hope Paul Boesch gets the nod. Stone Cold would be cool too. I was thinking about who else would be great and yeah, the Von Erichs need to be on there, the Funks, Hacksaw, Dr. Death Steve Williams, Terry Taylor, Ted Dibiase the Rock and Roll Express. These were all huge names in Houston Wrestling. Is Ricky Steamboat a Hall of Famer yet?

I still think, at some point, Sting deserves a spot. I've mentioned this before, even though he's never (and probably never will) wrestled in WWE, they own all that WCW/NWA footage, he should get that nod.

Went to TNA's Victory Road pay-per-view last night with the kids.

Man, that was a really great show, up until that really weird finish.

I'm jealous.

Ultimo Guererro and Yoshino are at the top of my list of Wrestlers I want to see live but haven't yet.

ROH brings in Yoshino every year or so and I'm figuring that's a matter of time. I have no clue on how I'm gonna see Ultimo.

Yeah, WTF was that? I didn't see the show, but I've read several accounts of what happened, and it makes zero sense. I'm all for more complex booking (just look at the brilliant Chris Jericho/Shawn Michaels feud), but there has to be some natural progression. It's a shame...TNA has some great talent, which can make for some excellent in-ring action, but the booking is brutal.

I'm going to see Alex Shelley and Chris Sabin- The Motor City Machine Guns take on El Steenerico on Saturday at the ROH show in New York City.
I've never seen Sabin. So that'll be good.
There's also a NWA title match Pearce (c) vs Albright (fka Gunnar Scott), Never seen the NWA title.
Go vs Marufuji
And much much more
(and a trip to Jim Hanley's Universe)

I know I'm the only ROHbot on this board, but damn that was an incredible show. Any wrestling fan that could've gotten to NYC last night but didn't go is a fool. However you rate matches It had four 4 Star MOTN main event caliber matches. (the three I mentioned in the above post and the 4 way elimination ROH title match)

The DVD for this show "Death Before Dishonor VI" should be out in about 2 months. Buy it, Put it on your Christmas list, trick your Friend into getting it, whatever; just see it.

If you can get to any of the cities that ROH runs- Boston (9/19), Hartford (10/24, NYC (12/27), Edison in Jersey (10/25), Philly, DC area of Manassassas, Dayton, Cleveland, Detroit, Chicago, Somewhere in FLorida, Toronto, Montreal,Tokyo, London or wherever in Texas they're going on wrestlemania weekend- you should go see it.

If you wish to read more on ROH please visit:
www.ROHWrestling.com -The ROH company site or
www.TheBurningHammer.com -a bunch of obnoxious wrestling fans. tBH is kinda a regional (new England) site but it doesn't have to be.

Didn't he just have his return match? He must have effed up or something.

Details forthcoming, I imagine.
