I agree with the Byrne/Superman connection. Before he took over I had zero interest in the man of steel. It was byrne that got me buying the titles. His Time magazine cover got me even more giddy at the time. I even bought Time when I was at an age where who gives a shit about Time? It was exciting times for me at that age and what was happening in comics.

Completely satisfied with this sketch, if I were the customer of this piece, i might be a little concerned that if it here haning in my home for people to admire, they might notice his jacket is a bit too short around the waist. If he were standing up straight i picture the jacket coming down to his hairy belly button. I'd get over it eventually. (i think)

Also, since I'm playing the role of commissioner and I'm still stewing about it...the depth of the soles of his shoes going into the body of his shoe looks kinda gay. Put that together with the midriff jacket...i'm just sayin'...not that there's anything wrong with that.

The left foot being one or two inches shorter than the right foot doesn't help either, so what could be a regular cowboy boot ends up looking like a high-heeled boot.

That would be nit picking and I'm above that sort of thing.

An excellent observation. I wonder-if the commissioner caught this before actually finishing the transaction, could byrne fix it and still make the final piece work? Would there be a spot that shows a lot of erasing?

puh-leeze everybody knows that Logan has a leg longer than the other, this was expressly covered in issues #140-144 "When The Wolverine bit off his own leg..."

I like how byrne wisened up and stopped posting sketches only on the weekends. His lapdogs had been trained pavlov style to expect a posting every weekend. I can't find the link but I think it was started by nathan greno regarding he couldn't wait for the weekend because that meant more byrne goodness sketches. As an outsider, as soon as i saw that post, it was bye bye weekend only posting of sketches. And I'll bet byrne himself got tweaked. "Fuck! Now look what I've done! Christ. First I thought rock paper scissors was original and it wasn't and now i couldn't see my own pattern of this weekend only crap. This ends now!" He's posting them during the week now.
