I agree with Paul so far as "switching it off" goes. It would be impossible to enjoy any adaption from anything to film if you pick at every difference between the movie and the source material. I've found, with superhero films anyway, so long as they keep the parts that made the property successful in the first place the film is usually pretty good.

John Byrne should should check out Avengers on the big-screen, it's a really fun movie. Who knows, he might even change his mind.
