The other day Alex Ness encouraged me to post more often. Pointless arguments like these remind me why I don't.

Byrne's art is pretty far from garbage.

I like Byrne's art, at least once upon a time. That wasn't the point.

Ehh -- TRIO looked pretty bland to me, too. Byrne's best art days seem to be well behind him.

Still, credit where it's due. For years, we busted Byrne's chops for not producing anything new, for living in the past on his Web site and cranking out X-Men commissions. The last couple of years, he has been producing new projects. It's not our cup of tea, OK, but I'll give him credit for that.

I'm terribly sorry that you are so willfully ignorant as to what words mean, Bungee. Do they have Sylvan Learning Centers near you? Here, you can check at tutoring.sylvanlearning.com.

Yet you had to post just to get that off your chest, eh. Love ya, but the door's over there.

The Byrne X-Men commissions market has likely met its saturation point.

Allen, I bet more people that post here, feel like Ted more than they do you.

I love getting into discussions at my local comic shops. Everybody is polite and funny. We often disagree without devolving into the pointless and sometimes personal fighting you seem to prefer. When I come here, I'm just looking for that kind of interaction, hopefully just a quick break from work and it happens sometimes.

But, more often than not, when you get involved in a conversation here, I know it's over. The nature of the discussion will change, it will now become some ridiculously pointless argument, all in response to something that was just posted only to get a rise out of people in the first place.

Not to say I haven't gotten sucked into a few and willingly engaged myself, you couldn't argue if we didn't argue back. Maybe Ted has the right idea. If I didn't know and respect many of the other people who still post here, I would probably have left here long ago.

From the below link...

"And this is my problem. I do not engage in arguments with trolls in order to defeat their argument. I know that will never happen. They do not post comments because they actually care about the subject matter. They look over the comments with the sole intention of finding something they can despise and ridicule. They will always insist on having the last word, and no matter how rational your points, they will always believe that they have come out on top. The more you tell them they are wrong the more satisfaction they feel that they have got a reaction out of you. And you’re not arguing for the benefit of anyone reading, because most people won’t read your comments anyway.

No, I get competitive. I try to outwit them. I try to work out exactly what it is that they enjoy about posting obnoxious comments, and I try to undermine that mentality. They’re smart, too. They frame their opening comments in language that, when you go back and look at it, makes you wonder why it bugged you so much in the first place. They argue that they are the sole voice of reason on the board and make you wonder if you are behaving like just another hysterical fan girl (well, I am a bit, I suppose). I figured out some time ago that the desire to start flame wars and to troll comments sections has an almost sociopathic bent, but that has just made me all the more determined to “figure them out”..."

This quote was priceless...

"...Most interesting, though, is a post by a self-confessed troll who is predictably proud of their accomplishments:

“First off, getting a rise out of people is priceless. There is a distinct exhilirating (sic) rush knowing that you’ve really twisted the knife, gotten the goat. There is probably some amount of sadism to this. Hurting other people for fun.

Analyzing someone for buttons, then carefully pressing them, can also be challenging as fuck. While people tend to fall into certain categories — with broad, generalized buttons — everyone is different, and it can take a gentle touch and canny wits to unearth that little something that will really set someone off. We’re talking about seriously honing mental muscles that don’t otherwise get much use.

I mean… don’t any of you enjoy arguing with people, like, IRL? I /love/ it. Coming out on top in a contest of wits is fucking awesome. Notably, most internet trolling is pretty crude, but not everyone’s *good* at it, right?” – Etruscan"

And that's the game! Thanks for coming everybody and stay safe on your drive home.

I do appreciate Allen clearing up for us why he's such an unhappy person. After all, the only sort of interaction he apparently ever has with women is...

Allen - "Do you want to have sex with me?"

Woman- "No!"
