"All the times he does that" now totalling two. Does that include you being too stupid to check the WGA rules before ranting about how Joss Whedon didn't really write The Avengers? Mike

The WGA rules don't negate anything I've said, doofus.

Okay, Theroux and Kevin Feige. Whedon didn't make the decision to feature her more prominently. That decision was already made before Penn and Whedon began their draft, if not by producer fiat then by reading the results of crowd sourcing after her performance in Iron Man 2.
I don't care how powerful you think Whedon is, there is no way in hell Feige gave him carte blanche and Whedon turned in a script that didn't feed into a pre-conceived formula. Based on the buzz generated by the after-credits teaser in Iron Man, the expectation was already in place for this movie to do exceptionally well. Long before Whedon's name was ever mentioned as being attached or involved in any capactiy. If that is the case, then how can you blame the fact that you hate the film on wheddon? he is either responsible for the content and as such the credit or blame or he is not, in which case he can not be held responsible for what you did not like

If The Avengers failed it would have been Whedon's fault. That's the case in point. Avengers couldn't fail, because of the five-year marketing plan. That's why Whedon glommed onto it. How could you say it could not fail? that is nonsense.

Allen, if the only version of this movie you saw was a shitty cellphone camera bootleg you aren't really qualified to have an opinion as to its quality.

Nah, allen wouldn't let the quality of the version he saw effect his opinion. It wouldn't matter if allen had front row seats in the best theater in the country, he's got a thing for Joss Whedon. This movie was going to suck, and it would be all Whedon's fault, and even if it didn't suck, even if it was good, no matter how good, even if it was the second highest grossing film of all time, it was going to all be despite Whedon.
You should hear his views on the Buffy TV show, even though it was on for seven years it was still a failed TV show, because it wasn't on a "real network."

how can you blame the fact that you hate the film on wheddon? I'm not a fan of Jim Jarmusch, but I liked Ghost Dog. I hate the Avengers movie because it's a bad movie, not because Whedon is credited with being its director.

If you think that's nonsense, just stick around, allen will introduce you to whole new levels of nonsense. Yeah, check out Joe and Bungee's threads on piracy. Some baseless nonsense if there ever was.
