Geeeeez, jb can't stand it when someone derails a thread, yet wastes no time taking this post from star wars to xmen less than an hour after the initial post regarding happy birthday starwars.

absolutely.

Mostly medical bills and then I'd get my car fixed.

Yeah! You can see how much the follow-up posts have skewed away from the subject! Gadzooks!

Every once in a while I'll take a step back and look at all the sites I visit on a multiple, daily visit. This includes bleedingcool.com, aintitcoolnews.com, cbr, newsarama, etc, ad nauseum...I gotta admit--there are a lot of threads in various sections of his board that are truly engaging. I'd rank his site as one of the top 3 that I visit many times a day because of the variety of opinions and comments of the big man himself and his lackey's. I'm more knowledgeable in star wars, star trek, movies and tv because of this site.

There may be a wide range of discussions on the Byrne Forum but when it comes to the Comics thread, there is a definite case of group think - Marvel bad now but good way back; Alan Moore bad and unoriginal; original Image bad and ruined industry; Joe Quesada bad; JB's commissions uniformly brilliant; and so on.

Imagine that? Fans of JB agreeing with many of his opinions. How...odd?

And his commissions? Fans of JB almost invariably finding enjoyment with them? What are the odds?

Paul, Paul, Paul, ...

For instance, for someone to say they like a particular Marvel Comic of 2012, they have to say that whilst Marvel 2012 is complete rubbish, this particular one is very good.

Those who disagree with JB are by and large removed from the forum. The good thing about arguing with people you disagree with is that you might learn something new or, heaven forfend, change your mind. JB doesn't like anyone to challenge his opinions.

Now, disagree with me ... please.

This is yet another exaggerated Internet myth perpetrated by the usual "bunch" on naysayers.

While JB has been known to arbitarrily close certain membership accounts for one "reason" or another, it has never been for something so simple as "challenging" his opinions.

Oh, and if you (or anyone else) decide to "challenge" this myth with "concrete proof," make sure the "reason" is for simply "challenging" JB's opinions.
