So have you folks heard of the vagina controversy here in Michigan? One of the legislators involved is my own state representative Barb Byrum. The ensuing political fandango has led to a spectacular "Vaginas Take Back the Capitol!" rally in Lansing on this Monday. Guests will include Jennifer Granholm (former Michigan governor and host of the MSNBC program "The War Room") and Eve Ensler (author of "The Vagina Monologues". My wife and I will be there as well, and over a thousand people have signed up on Facebook to attend.

My wife, my two teenage daughters, my 23-year-old stepdaughter, my stepdaughter-in-law, and myself all enjoyed the performance/protest rally along with over 5000 other Michiganders.

I liked "The Vagina Monologues" when I saw it years ago.

Personally, I would have felt uncomfortable watching it with my (hypothetical) daughters, though. I guess I'm not as liberal as I thought I was. Likewise, I won't be taking my (very much real) son to The Penis Platitudes.
