Why do obituaries of people over the age of 90 list a cause of death if it is anything due to age related causes. Car accident? OK. Murder? Certainly. Fall? Maybe. Heart attack or stroke or ass cancer or pneumonia? FUCK NO.

Dammit.

I dunno, I'm still interested in that kind of detail, even if it is maybe a little ghoulish. When you want to stay alive, more info on what to watch out for is always helpful.

I could certainly understand if families didn't want to share that info, but who does it hurt if they let it out?

I am not sure it is helpful to know that a 95 year old white guy from Syracuse NY died of a bad cold.

Can't say I want to know what they died of either. Passed away is good enough. It matters more that they meant something to someone and there are memories and a memorial honoring that person. I would more want to know what they did that was substantial in life, Medal of Honor recipient? Or if the person died doing something awesome like rescuing a bus full of kids that was on fire and teetering over a cliff.
