Dunno, but the last time I checked the JBF was working just fine.

Yeah, Paul, you can get in and see the JBF because you're a member there. You have to log in to see it, or keep yourself continuously logged in. I don't have a membership there. I did join once years ago, but I've forgotten my password, and I'm sure that the account was deleted for inactivity since then. So when I try to view the forum now I get the message that I quoted above. And that is a change from just a few days ago.

I guess I could try to sign up there again. I do find their discussions interesting. And it would be interesting to find out whether they would let me in at this point. Maybe I'll give that a try.

Oops, I went to register at the JBF, but that page shows this message:

Quote:

Byrne Robotics > Register New User

Sorry, new registrations are currently suspended, please check back again later.

It may be a quirk of my browser, but that message is in black text on a black background, so to actually see it, I had to highlight that portion of the screen with my mouse, or with CTRL-A.

Anyway, I expect this is temporary, so I will check again in a few days.

Paul--have any weekend commissions be posted? If so, please describe in detail so I can judge it.

Maybe I'll try joining. Which alias do you think will work:

Budd Man

Bud Mann

It's not as clever as Joseph Kerr but I don't have much to work with.

If no one minds, I'd like to put on my thinking cap and hypothesise about this recent turn of events:

If the current situation is the norm, then here's my Moneyball theory:

byrne took a look at the total number of views and compared it to the total number of replies. Take out my 'view' and compare that number to the number of members and divide it by the number of post's per day per thread. He probably realized that only a certain number of members reply to any given thread and came to the conclusion that it's the same ass kissers which totals approximately 15 people for any given thread. Again, an educated guess.

He has reached a status in his life where he could give 2 shits about what people think and in order to reduce his blood pressure and increase his chances of getting laid, he has decided to close the main forum to the public and only hear those who like to gush about his work.

On the whole I've come to like his art more, and believe the worst of his comments and person less due to this thread. I know various people here are the reverse, but I wish they'd open his forum so I can see the commission pics again. Even when I am not a fan of the work it still is interesting to see.
