A friend of my Ex's had three abortions before she finally settled down and had a kid. In each case, she was (obviously) getting older and DELIBERATELY got pregnant, just to "test the plumbing". There are also plenty of cases of women having abortions so that being pregnant will not interfere with their vacations.

I've heard him say men should support a woman's right to choose, ardently, so I am not thinking this is his typical anti this or anti that screed.

Byrne is, indeed, pro-choice.

That doesn't mean he also can't be a misogynist asshole.

"Plenty" of women have abortions so that being pregnant will not interfere with their vacations? Really?

well if you asking, I know of a number of people who have made such choices. But the motives I couldn't tell you. So I suggest that he might well know people who've done so, but I doubt they said yeah, I vacuumed out the little fetus so I could go on vacation.

Nobody disputes that women have abortions.

I challenge his assertion, stated as fact, that "plenty" of women have abortions so the pregnancy won't interfere with a vacation.

I also am skeptical that any woman has confided in John Byrne -- of all people -- that she has undergone an abortion, much less her reasons.

Dave Mustaine had his wife undergo early inducing of their second child so as not to interfere with his itinerary of being on Howard Stern's show.

Interesting. Once again a well-known (chuckle) JB detractor thinks (chuckle) he knows more than he actually knows. Based on message forum postings & a few interviews, you know about JB's personal life (John Byrne -- of all people) in regards to women.

And you're slightly misquoting (say it ain't so!). By taking away a couple of simple words (of cases) it changes the dichotomy, which is, of course, your intention (IMO).

Your apparent rush to FINALLY get something on JB (it's been a while since anyone has done so to any degree of significance) is your downfall (as it usually is with most detractors).

Is JB exaggerating for effect? Maybe. It depends on how one defines "plenty of cases," right? Too many variables & yet another waste of time for a cowardly detractor to argue about from a safe distance...so to speak.

Now...let's see if this brings about the typical reaction of spotlight switching or can you actually admit you jumped the gun...yet again (chuckle)?

"It changes the dichotomy?" I think "Paul" might be a random-word-generating bot.

Seriously, it would explain a few things.

Paul is a silly boy.

Byrne says he knows of "plenty of cases [there you go, Paul] of women having abortions so that being pregnant will not interfere with their vacations." OK. Can he name ... three cases? Can anyone?

Byrne attributes to women a careless, lax attitude about abortion that would be terribly unattractive, if true. In my own experience, almost no women -- if any -- feel that callously about abortion. I doubt Byrne's allegation. Paul does not. So it goes.
