One of the wonders of the late lamented DC boards was that JB hardly ever got taken to task for these "endearingly eccentric" utterances.

But if Alan Moore said something like "DC didn't treat me very well" it was as if he'd spat on the American flag. (The even more amusing thing was that every time I looked at the source of the quote it was obvious that AM was just replying to a direct question, and if he'd been left to his own devices he'd prefer to discuss other stuff.)
