Couple of interesting stories there including Ted beating DKR overseas.

Man...I am content...I'm comfortably full, another puff from the magic dragon (maybe)...and...this concludes tonight's broadcast.

As you can clearly see, clubbing aint my scene. I prefer to be on line and have my thumb far from being up my ass and on the pulse of what is happening in the realm of pop culture.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a soft cover reprint of Neal Adams Presents...Batman. There has been a lot of criticism about him redrawing a bunch of scenes and it's true. I'm looking at the art that's supposed to be from the late 60's and 70's and it's blatantly obvious as to what is redrawn. But still, I love me some neal adams batman...

After about 20 minutes of that, it's me, amanda connor and heidi mcdonald for the rest of the night.

A Night in the Life of...
The goddam Budman

Tonight, we're having company over. They're due at 7. They're neighbors that are good people--i.e. their kids play with my kids (if i really have any) [i]and [/i]my moral compass says so. Plus, they drink beer (but that's it, if you know what I mean).

Here's my dillema:
They know I'm on a salmon kick. Don't judge me. Loooong story short, the husband caught a salmon, had a professional filet it
and asked me if i knew of any good recipes for cooking salmon.

Which I do.

He's proud of himself with this fish. They say salmon are hard to catch because once they're hooked, it takes a while to reel them in. He caught it in Lake Ontario. A lake that they close the beaches of frequently because of high levels of bacteria. I have no desire to eat fish from that lake.

They're due anytime so more later.

Salmon's great. I've got a bunch of Tilapia in the freezer I've been going through lately. And a fine batch of Catfish stew.

I'm not a prude so I did't say flat out I don't want to eat it. Although, if I did, my comfort level with him is at that point where he wouldn't be offended and would laugh it off as we drank another beer. Instead, I took the approach of Detective Columbo and asked in a non threatening way questions like:

Do you know anyoe that's eaten salom out of this lake? And the answer was surprising:
He said that it's a big business upstate and that vendors in nyc buy a lot of fish and supply the restaurants with fresh seafood menu items.

That changed my perspective a little. But the proof is acutally eating it.

I ate it and..

It was delicious. I tried it first with no accompaniments and the flavor was there. Then I added my lemon dill sauce, traditonal white rice with lot's of butter and corn (again).

There were bones. Lot's of them. I expected that and was able to enjoy my meal without eating one.

I commended him on his catch. He offered me another filet which was at least a pound. He had a lot more. I accepted it.

The Greek Philospher Epicurus said:
"We shoud look for someone to eat and drink with before looking for something to eat and drink"


Tonight was one such night.
Now, A Team is on, I'm comfortably full, they're gone and i have a nice buzz. Time to enhance that effect and smoke a bowl.
