One blogger compared Kubert's Before Watchmen work to that coach who covered up pedophilia Seems the blogger in question was Alan David Doane, who is a registered user here, but I mainly remember him from Usenet. Apparently, Doane took a lot of heat over the comment and took it down. Someone named V. Bartilucci saved a copy, though. Then Doane apologized (never do that, Doane) and Bartilucci ripped into that, too. Whatever. Kubert held a unique position in the roster of the contributors to Before Watchmen, even apart from his being the senior member. He put his name on a comic book school, so there's absolutely no way he wasn't aware of the impact of Watchmen. And of all the BW scabs, he had the least to gain from being party to that. Now it's very unlikely we'll ever get an explanation of his motives.

I won't be baited into a conversation about Alan Moore, WATCHMEN, etc. [...] anywhere online. It's easy to see why Alan Moore keeps getting fucked. None of his associates want to stand up for him.

http://www.the-gutters.com/comic/333-neal-adams Interesting choices. And the source photos for most of those are pretty easy to find. Also, I want you to look very closely at the font chosen for the GUTTERS logo. That is my font, Yikes, not Comicraft's font, Zoinks.

...and Boris Karloff made four bad movies in Mexico before he died Karloff's performances were re-edited from extant footage, albeit previously unused. He didn't make those movies "in Mexico;" his parts were filmed in Los Angeles. None of those movies were controversial sequels to influential works.

Can't even let a post linking to a nice tribute stand without pissing on it in some way. You're a class act.

You want pissing? Okay, here's some pissing.
Neal Adams traced some photos. Yet again. Awesome. I'm guessing we're supposed to be impressed with the group of alumni represented? Dave Dorman and Eric Shanower are good, sure, but the rest of them range from okay (Morales, Bissette) to bloody awful (Parent, Kubert's sons). I guess Adams couldn't find pictures of the three best: Adam Warren, Tom Yeates and John Totleben.
I already had uneasy feelings about the selling of industry access posing as a school (and the paying for it with tax dollars), but the contribution to Before Watchmen crosses a line. You piss on Alan Moore, I will piss on you. Even if you're Joe Kubert.

Also, it's kinda funny how after Julius Schwartz died the two sides of the conversation about his alleged sexual harassment hinged on a story that no one can really substantiate. But with Kubert's open disrepect of Moore's wishes, it's not a behind-closed-doors matter. There's the evidence right there, in four glorious colors.

If Allen has uneasy feelings, he must piss. Got it?
Alan Moore's lucky to have such a valiant defender.

Seems nobody else wants to do it.
