Liefeld in a grudge-match to the death against the editorial management of DC and Marvel? I honestly don't know who to side with. Maybe we should just tie everyone's left wrists together and place a sharp knife in their right hands and see what happens.

On one hand, Liefeld floated way above his talent level ... well, around the same time his crap first was printed 20-something years ago. There's nothing good that can be said for him creatively.

On the other hand, the yahoos running DC and Marvel have proven time and again that they're devoid of new ideas or creative integrity or even much of a sense of fun.

On Liefeld's side, when he complains that DC editors had no idea what they were doing until the last minute with the nu52 reboot, and they endlessly mucked about in the details of his comics until they had wrecked the stories, he's got credible company. Other pros, such as genial George Perez, have said the same thing as they have abandoned their nu52 projects.

Do they know you can take screenshots without an actual camera?

And "Way above his talent level"?! He's at the exact level his talent deserves, sir.

Haha, yeah. Hard to root for either one. They're both scrap-feeding vermin.

DC appears to have a bit of a Goldilocks problem when it comes to editorial. It's easy to dismiss Liefeld as an ass but, as has been pointed out, there's been quite a bit of creative turnover at DC that seems connected to problems between talent and editors. On the other hand, there's the hilariously bad first issues of NITE OWL and COMEDIAN, where it's hard to believe there was any editorial guidance at all.

I find it hard to believe an editor said Let's contradict the whole "Comedian killed JFK" thing from the original or Let's have Rorschach make a dick joke.
