I vividly remember watching one protester with a sign that read “Google = Jewish Billionaires.” Another protester ran over and ripped up the poster. The messages had become decidedly too mixed.

It didn't so much fail as it was stomped out. Before winter the police came in and kicked them out of whatever parks they were occupying.

Seeing as how the concept of the secret 1% class that owns and controls almost everything in this country is no longer much of a secret, one could hardly say that OWS failed. More people are now aware of the growing wage disparity between the worker and owner classes. That's a success.

The difference between a protest movement and a political movement is that someone's got to be in charge of the latter and everybody's got to more or less accept it. Individual agendas have to be submerged in favor of overall goals and somebody's got to have the organizational strength and moral authority to oversee that process. It's the difference between the Watts riots and the French Revolution.

The OWS won't succeed as it's no doubt been infiltrated by Police Spies. It's what happens over here - Police Spy.

Any leadership emerging would have been smeared, vilified & arrested on trumped up charges. The Dept of Homeland Security routinely harasses and detains people who question US policy - DHS harassement.

I don't think OWS was organized well enough to warrant infiltration.
