Okay, the deed is done. Took me about an hour and fifteen minutes this year, much faster than four years ago. We've still got the same paperless voting machines, however, which I believe have been outlawed in quite a few states.

Purely anecdotal, but every person I could hear talking in line either said they were voting to re-elect the president or said something nasty about Romney. This set of precincts was rural not too long ago and is now sort of semi-suburban, with quite a few trailer parks mixed in. White, Black and some Latino.

First swing state to watch is Virginia, its polls close at 7pm. If the president takes Virginia, it's pretty much all over.

Oh, that's just paranoia.

That's incredible. Voting in any election over here has never taken me more that 2 minutes. I've never had to queue ever (unless you count having one person - that would be my wife - in front of me getting her name checked on the voters roll).

What is involved in the actual voting process? Do you have to provide ID etc.? All seems rather bizarre to me. It's almost like you'd have to take a day of work to vote.

That looks like the exact same interface on the machine I used.

Varies by state, which is a big part of the problem.

Someone mentioned in this online game I was playing the election process or the government is like George Washington punching you in the groin to keep you down.

I just think people didn't like Romney as a person and rather have a beer with Obama.

I voted for Tommy Thompson just because.....I can see Tammy Baldwin in lucative cases in the Senate on Lance Armstrong taking steriods and why we haven't pulled out of Iraq and Afganistan.

Having claimed inspiration from Geraldine Ferraro's nomination for vice president on the Democratic ticket in 1984, Baldwin has framed her race in a similar way.
