So now, I am content, whatever happens. I've forgiven everyone, I have no more cancer, and life is good.

I say, let's party!

Hi, Alexander and anyone else who may be reading this.

Though we have never met and never had any direct communications I have enjoyed reading your posts for years. I feel some kinship with you, maybe in the same way I would feel for a musician whose work I have enjoyed. I am happy that things have normalized for you. I hope your future is a merry one.

It seems you have been coming to this site now for almost eleven years. I have been coming here for quite a while too, though my reading and contribution have diminished recently. In some ways I don't have the time. And as the general contribution diminishes there is less reason to come here and a snowball effect ensues. I do go to Collector's Society Message Boards but it has a very different concentration than this board. As the name would imply it is mostly about collecting comic books. The people there use words and phrases like crease that doesn't break colour, foxing and square corners.

I only go there every few days and when I do go I rarely make a contribution. I still love comics but I am not as involved as I once was, as a creator or collector. Other things have changed in my life (over the years I have been coming here) and nobody stays static in their activities.

It is hard to sympathize with a website that is not well. To continue my analogy, it would be like feeling sympathy for Capitol Records when their profits drop. I suppose the more record companies and more comic book message boards we have, the better off we all are but it is hard to turn that into an emotional response.

I have never met Rick Veitch or Steve Conley not have I communicated with them, for the most part. Rick Veitch had a drawing published in a comic I contributed to, once. Did he draw Swamp Thing. His name rings a bell and I know he draws in a scratchy style but I am not sure that I have ever read a story by him. If their income is tied to the board and I suspect that it is, I hope things turn out well for them too, but, like I said, I have had no contact with them. I will say "all the best" to them but there is not much emotion behind it. Hey, they don't know me either or what I go through.

Jeez, granfalloon, that longer post above might be one of the most thoughtful, best written things I've ever read on Comicon.

Hello dear Granfalloon

Thank you so much for those kind words. I dearly appreciate it. The world is not a kind or gentle place, so it is very much comforting to find kin amongst the crowds.

I post less than ever before on message boards, but, when I do it is over at Defiant1's, http://comics.vforums.co.uk/

Feel free to join us, or not, but I've enjoyed your posts...

Rick had a nice style but I wouldn't call it scratchy

Mr Veitch is quite talented and can draw in different styles. I've been too busy to stop by. I know that it's dead here, so I haven't made a huge amount of effort.
