I am curious what people here think of this series. I've been a big fan of Greg Rucka's work on Detective Comics so I just ordered the Q&C trade and #7 from my sub service. I figure it's got to be good work but I'm looking for some feedback. Thanks.

This is a Good book. More the espionage/spy genre with plenty of political maneuvering mixed in, but the story is intense and the characters are well defined. I am enjoying it.

"Queen and Country" is a solid read. Personally, I would pick up "White Out" first if you don't already have it. It's where the main character for Q&C is introduced and there is some beautiful artwork by Steve Lieber.

It's a really good read. My suggestion would be to hunt down #5, which came out a few weeks ago, since #7 will be the middle of the storyline that starts here.

Picking up Whiteout isn't too bad of an idea. Neither is getting Whiteout: Melt, the big bad sequel.

I don't like that it's a bi-monthly wink

But I thought Pete Woods' wife (?) would be drawing the current arc. At least I thought I read that a few months ago, her preview artwork looked pretty damn good too. Won't hear me complain about Brian Hurtt though. smile

It's been a great read and though I didn't like the delay, I forgot about that once I got 5 a few weeks ago. You can Rucka loves the subject and does his research, yet with that said the story is great and he's done a good job with characterization. The cartoony art takes a little getting used to but I don't mind it and I think they may be changing artists anyway.

Just so as not to confuse a new reader...

The character introduced in "White Out" is not exactly the same character in Q&C, although it's probably some kind of in-joke that they are really SUPPOSED to be the same woman. The one in "White Out" had a different name, though.

Nonetheless, "White Out" is certainly worth the read.

Absolutely by far the best work of Rucka's comic book career. This book is just amazing in every aspect. Rucka gives us yet another strong female lead character with a great cast. Tim Sale on the first 4 issues probably drew the 4 best covers of the year. And the minimilist(sp?) art on the interiors, without words in some panels, conveyrs more thought & expression that people like Bendis can convey with a page of wordy dialogue.
