God knows I'm no Paul fan, but I find IvanJim to be very annoying in this thread. Paul has called your bluff; it's time to put up or shut up... how did he meet his wife, and what evidence do you have that tells you so?

You all should be ashamed of yourselves.
Paul's wife has nothing to do with this forum or this thread. I can't believe you would stoop to so tawdry a level.
There is nothing dishonorable about bankruptcy per se. It's a nasty cheap shot to bring it up.
I can understand a rabid dog like Geedis descending to this level. But IvanJim?!
And all this because the guy's a fan of John Byrne?
You are confirming the very worst clichés about comics fans. This is despicable behavior.

Yes, Alex, that's exactly why people take shots at Paul. Because he's a John Byrne fan. You've zeroed in on the ugly truth.

Paul himself has talked here about his bankruptcy -- he showed poor judgment with credit cards, he said -- and he told us he doesn't mind if other people talk about it. If he says it bothers him, I know that I'll never mention it again, and I'm sure most others would follow suit. I don't know anything about Paul's wife. I assume she's a lovely woman.

All right, but wouldn't you agree that things have gone much too far on this thread?

Paul is a sad and loathsome individual, but I would not pursue the subject of his family. That is subject matter I consider off limits, which is why I've made it a point of cropping them out of the photos I've posted of him. Of course, as is so often the case, Paul has played as big a part in furthering this particular line of discussion as anyone else. I think you'd have to agree that if things have gone too far between him and IvanJim, both are equally culpable.

Alex is pretty much a hypocritical dick, and has no business being an arbiter of good taste, let alone telling anyone else what they should and shouldn't do. But I would agree with his disbelief about one thing, I do find it interesting that IvanJim is any part of taking a shot at Paul's wife.
A while back, back when some of Paul's personal pictures were linked to here somewhere, (maybe a year or so), IvanJim sent me an email chastising me for jokingly hinting at the possibility of Paul's wife being a mail order bride. I agreed it was probably over the line and apologized in the thread, albeit half-heartedly.

But I don't have anything to say about Paul's wife or his marriage, and I don't plan to. Paul sure can be irritating, and he's obviously a weird guy with some problems, but I don't have any bad feelings for him on a personal level. I don't wish him ill.

I don't read his comments as a shot at Paul's wife, I read them as a shot at Paul. Which isn't to say I'm keen on the idea of bringing up family members, just clarifying how I see things.
