For goodness sake, Joe, don't take it so hard. Maybe we should go grab a beer or a hot chocolate and I'll try and show you how to read between the lines so that you might be able to grasp when someone actually likes you even when they think you're being a bit foolish. I may tease Joe a bit, and from time to time he deserves it, but I wasn't serious when I joked about his being Sonderstedy.

I may grow annoyed with Joe from time to time, but I think he's a good guy, an honest soul and someone who has my respect.

Absolutely none of that description applies to Paul, and even at Joe's worst he's 100 times the man Paul is.
