Not to mention he's got no company to flee to since he burned his bridges at Marvel. So the man with such high principles isn't that at all? How surprising. Jump to conclusions much?

Oops! You are one of the most rude, inconsiderate people I have ever met on the Internet. I was obviously addressing someone else and yet you stepped right in. Imagine we were at a party and I was discussing the finer points of, say, Spider-Man: Chapter One, published by M*****, with a fine young civilian lady. (I am not gay. I have gone to many gay clubs, but I am not gay, as shown by my talking to this attractive young lady). She poses me a question regarding flaws in the execution of said comic, which I begin to point out are Ditko and Lee's fault, not Byrne's. BUT THEN YOU STEP IN AND GET IN ON MY ACTION!! Well, I'd have to punch you in the jaw, wouldn't I?

Well, I'd have to punch you in the jaw, wouldn't I? It's true, you'd have to do so, but please keep in mind that I wasn't talking to you but about you. Therefore since I wasn't directly addressing you it's absolutely no concern of yours what-so-ever. It's like you were pointing out the big muck that Lee and Ditko had made out of Spider-Man that Byrne had to generously clean up, and I started talking to your young lady friend about the horrid mess that Lee and Kirby had made out of the Fantastic Four that Byrne had to scrub clean. The only person who'd deserve a punch in the jaw would be the alleged young lady for giving too much credit to Chris Claremont for scribling words on Byrne's artwork when Byrne was plotting the X-Men. Hopefully this clears up these ever important issues of protocol that seem so muddy when they aren't governed by internet rules.

If by that you mean presenting a counterargument, then yes, it's a retort.
One of Dictionary.com's definitions:
1. A quick incisive reply, especially one that turns the first speaker's words to his or her own disadvantage.
That about covers it. ------
No, I asked if it was the 'BEST' retort you....ahhhh, never mind.

Y'see, that's how he plays the game. He's not so obtuse as to not get your point. His game is to cause you a sense of frustration and (in so much that he convinces you that you can't get him to accede to your point) futility.
Mister C, I'm afraid that he won that match. You and I both know that you can outplay him, but not if you play by a set of invisible rules that he sets for you. Remember, he doesn't have to acknowledge your point in order for you to win. Your victory has to be on your own terms, which you have the luxury of defining. Capiche?

In what way was telling the truth negative & hateful? He was indeed being hypocritical in his pitiful attempt at trying to be the "voice of reason" when in the very recent past he has shown that he is anything but. Why do you think the truth cannot exist without hate or negativity? There is plenty in the real world that is negative and filled with hate (e.g., John Byrne)

When you make your own rules you have the advantage. In her case, though, she's so convinced that she's right about what someone posts on a message board, that the "thought" that she may be wrong never occurs to her, so she continues to firmly tie herself to her delusional frame of "mind". No matter what is said to contradict her, no matter how much she could actually learn otherwise if she bothered to open her "mind", she is so set on her "psychoanalysis" via the Internet, and of course feels that she is impressing her fellow derogatories with her "intellectual" observations. She apparently derives "fun" from this delusion, and the fact that she has a few small-minded individuals who give her the Internet high-fives that she so obviously craves, I'm sure helps her through the "hard" times. Still, to answer the "question" about me giving my "best". You insist that this is some sort of contest and/or game in which someone is trying to outdo another (this appears to be Ms. Keller's agenda)...I do not. Hard for some to understand? Of course.
