Well, at least he can afford a really, really good lawyer now.

This is sad and disappointing. He's been above the bad reputation problems which plague other actors, but this really makes him look like an idiot.

From the same paper:

The story about "Peaches" Geldof, daughter of Live Aid legend and Boomtown Rats singer Bob Geldof, is more entertaining.

"Batman" was beating up his own mother and sister?!

Well, with all that martial arts training he got for the movie, I hope he didn't hurt them too badly.

Another proud moment for Hollywood.

Still, he vowed to never use a gun on them, because it's a "coward's weapon".

But apparently he was given enough time to prepare...

Maybe they should stop bringing up his wonderful performance in Newsies. I "heard" that he's been trying to forget that for years! =)

Seriously, though...let's just hope it turns out to be one of those "greedy relatives looking for their share of the pie" stories.

"Hauling my mother and sister's bloodied bodies to the roof of the hotel was a lot of work. The screams alone were worth it."

"We're told Bale pushed his mom out of the way during the altercation," TMZ reported. "She was not hurt and did not fall down. There's a division of opinion on whether the contact was a 'push' or a 'brush.' "

This whole thing reeks of bullshit. How convenient that his mother and sister file these charges during the opening weekend of his blockbuster movie.

It looks as though Bale's sister wanted to cash in on her brother's good fortune and essentially is trying to extort money from him.

Perhaps the reason that Bale is so reticent to deal with the press and interviewers is because he has a rather exploitive family and wants to avoid being inappropriately exploited.

BBZ-

What do you find amusing about Peaches' sad situation? Maybe I'm missing some part of the story, but all I'm seeing is a sad little girl who seems to be pissing her life away after the suicide of her mom. What's the punchline?

If Bale's mother and sister somehow provoked or even invented this incident, as some people say, he would do well to avoid them and not invite them to alcohol-laden movie premieres.

As for whether he should give some of his Hollywood money to his relatives -- it's his money. That's up to him. It's always a nice gesture to spread your wealth, but if you're not particularly close to your relatives -- and that would appear to be true here! -- you're surely not required to write them a check because you've done well.

Oh, come on Lawson. Family is never that simple. And he may have invited them with the best intentions and hopes of things going well.

Heh!

And how did that work out for you, Mr. Bale?

Lawson's free advice is worth what you pay for it, but he ought to keep his distance from his Mum and sisters from this point forward. Send them a nice Christmas card every December and wish them well. Either he blew up at them or they blew up at him and filed a false report. Either way, he doesn't need that in his life.

Yep, and now he knows! (like one of those PSAs onNBC)

So Lawson you didn't get pressured into inviting a few people to your wedding that you were crossing your fingers and hoping you wouldn't regret?

Who's to say that he even invited his mom and sis as opposed to getting a phone call saying, "Chris honey, we're here at this hotel. Would you mind coming up for a quick visit?"

No matter what the burden of proof may be in English courts (and I don't know exactly what that is), I'm going to go along with the innocent-until-proven-guilty formula here.

C'mon, guys! Cut Christian a break! The article said his sister is a part-time clown! Obviously she showed up at the party in full make-up, and Christian, being a method actor, gave her the full "Batman on Joker" treatment!

It was her own fault! It's like showing up at the monkey house in a banana suit!

Part-time clowns deserve full-time abuse!

Let's just say we didn't serve alcohol at our wedding, and we had the police on speed dial.
