THE PULSE is very sad to report that 81 year-old Gene Colan is experiencing several health issues. Colan's lacking in essential prescription drug health coverage, so the family is paying exuberant costs for the medications necessary to help him fight his illness. Industry pros are rallying to help Colan. Clifford Meth has organized a fundraiser. He already has Harlan Ellison, Neal Adams, Neil Gaiman, Stan Lee, Marv Wolfman, Joe Kubert, Norm Breyfogle, Leah Moore and Peter David among others contributing to the volume.
Colan has worked on dozens of comic book characters in his career. Fans fondly remember his work on Howard the Duck, Tomb of Dracula, Daredevil, Captain America, The Avengers, and Detective Comics, to name a few. Colan's received several prestigious awards for his artwork including two Eagle Awards. Colan was inducted into Will Eisner's Hall of Fame in 2005.
