FOXWOOD FALCONS, the independent comic story by Darren Sanchez and After Hours Press, has been optioned by Tapestry Films.
Tapestry Films has purchased the options for Darren Sanchez's newest comic title, the Foxwood Falcons. The 20-year-old financing and production company has produced features for its own library and for most of the major studios and independent film companies.
Headed by Peter Abrams, Robert Levy and Andrew Panay, the Beverly Hills-based production company's roster includes "Wedding Crashers," "National Lampoon's Van Wilder," "Pay It Forward," "The Wedding Planner," "Serendipity," "She's All That" and "Point Break."
"Foxwood Falcons is an incredibly imaginative and adventurous story reminiscent of "The Goonies" that will appeal to all ages." Abrams said.
The comic is the story of a young teen with a super secret, and how he and his friends face off against an ancient evil with the fate of mankind on the line. Described by Sanchez as "the Goonies" meets "Indiana Jones," the story is based on Sanchez's upcoming novel series. Penciled by up and coming new artist, Mathew Tow, the graphic novel for Foxwood Falcons will be released in Fall '08; available through Diamond Comic Distributors and at Wizard World conventions.
"I'm excited to be working with Tapestry Films," says Sanchez, the publisher of After Hours Press. "Their enthusiasm for this project is high, and what they plan to do should be really amazing."
Darren Sanchez has also written Celestial Alliance, J.A.A.T. (Joint Armored Attack Team), and Impossible Tales. He is represented by Jodi Reamer, of the Writer's House Literary Agency in NYC.
After Hours Press is a New Jersey- based comic book publisher co-created by Buddy Scalera, Darren Sanchez, and Chris Eliopoulos. Projects have included Necrotic: Dead Flesh on a Living Body, Celestial Alliance, Impossible Tales, Model Operandi, and 7 Days to Fame.
