THE DRESDEN FILES: WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE #1 SELLS OUT
1st Printing of Jim Butcher's Original Comic Book Story
Sells Out, 2nd Printing on the Way
Dabel Brothers Publishing is pleased to announce that Jim Butcher's The Dresden Files: Welcome to the Jungle #1 has officially sold out at Diamond. Written exclusively for comics by Dresden Files creator and New York Times bestselling author Jim Butcher and art by newcomer Ardian Syaf, the series is on its way to becoming the sleeper hit of 2008.
The series has received favorable reviews, amidst a growing media buzz, with mentions in Wizard Magazine and Entertainment Weekly.
According to retailers, copies of The Dresden Files: Welcome to the Jungle #1 have been flying off the shelves. Ralph DiBernardo, owner of retailer Jetpack Comics in Rochester, NH had this to say: "While sales at our store were brisk, sales at New York Comic Con were overwhelming. We literally had only 2 or 3 other new titles that outsold Dresden at NYCC. Given the diverse crowd of NYCC this speaks volumes for the quality and excitement of translating these novels into comic book format. No one understands the genre crossover market better than the Dabels."
Dabel Brothers Publishing is currently scheduling a 2nd printing of the first issue, which will feature a new cover by artist Marat Mychaels. The re-print will happen within the next 30 days, and retailers interested in ordering copies should check with Diamond Comics Distributors for further details.
"While we were certainly hoping for big things from this series," said Dabel Brother President Ernst Dabel, "it seems what has happened so far has definitely exceeded everyone's expectations. The response across the board, from press to retailers to fans, has been overwhelmingly positive…everyone seems to love Jim Butcher, Harry Dresden, and this series!"
Retailers are advised to review their orders for the remaining issues of Jim Butcher's: The Dresden Files: Welcome to the Jungle, as the demand of the book is sure to lead to more sell outs.
