2004 Convention appearances: San Diego July 22nd - 25th and both gatherings of Edgar Rice Burroughs fans this year. The Dum Dum in Fort Collins Colorado June 25th & 26th, and the ECOF August 13th and 14th in Sacramento Ca.

Hi... are you interested in anything in particular?... Just looking?... No problem. Look all you like, no charge.

Yes, I draw pictures for a living, and have been since about 1978. Currently I'm doing piles of commissions for private individuals. See below if you're interested in commissioning me to do an illustration for you. I am also helping Cary Nord pencil a new Conan comic book series for Dark Horse. Kurt Busiek is writing it and I'm doing layouts and or backgrounds. My first significant contributions start with issue 3.

In other news, my long awaited book on Al Williamson is finally due out from Dark Horse sometime later this year. It covers his life and art up to 1960. Including lots of complete, beautiful black and white comics stories shot from his original art in the fifties.

Aside form Conan, the most recent publications to come out with my work include the Universe X specials CAP and BEASTS, both 48 pagers from Marvel, and the Paradise X special RAGNAROK which came out in two parts in early '03. A collection of my ZORRO daily and Sunday newspaper strips done in collaboration with Don McGregor and Tod Smith titled ZORRO THE DAILIES is out from Image.
THE FORBIDDEN BOOK #2 published by Renaissance Press features a 21 page story I drew titled Jhafnyr.

In the past I've been involved in several Tarzan projects, having drawn 15 Tarzan comics. My last issue came out in 1999, in Dark Horse Presents. This is a collection of three short stories titled "Tales of Pellucidar". All the art is by myself, Steve Bissette wrote the last one, and I wrote the first two.

How do I get those gray areas on some of my work you ask? I like to use a special drawing paper called "Duoshade" board. It actually has two shades of gray printed in it, when you paint on a developer, the gray becomes visible where you painted it in.

To purchase and find out more about "Duoshade" board, contact Ohio Grafix at http://www.grafixarts.com.

    To Purchase My Art

There are three main ways to buy my work from me. First, you can buy my self published book, "Twixt Two Worlds". Second, you can buy an already existing piece of art. Third, you can commission me to do a piece just for you. From the convention variety sketch to full color paintings. One or two figures sketched in ink for 50. or 75. bucks, (animals count as figures, see samples). Large, detailed art for $100. to $500. in black and white, (see samples). Large full color paintings in acrylic, or watercolor, or oils, $600. to $2000. All purchases must be made by check through the mail. If you want a sketch of something I am generally associated with, simply mail me a description with your check, and I'll mail you your inked sketch. If you want a sketch of a character I am not familiar with, like most superheros, some specific scene, or anything more elaborate than a sketch, then e-mail me about it first, and I'll get back to you if I can do it. There is a fourth way to obtain my art from me, that is to trade with me for it. Once in a while I will trade my art for some obscure item; audio or video tapes, comics, art books, etc. I am not a big collector, but if you've got just the right old adventure movie, rare hippie music tape, or comic book I've been looking for, we might make a deal.

Most of the comic book art that I still have available is basically from 1985 on. If you are interested in my early Swamp Thing originals, and other early DC work, contact Steve Donnally, artist agent and dealer, at C.I.A. (no known relation to Central Intelligence, I hope). Chronologically speaking, I still have some originals for sale from most of my post "Timespirits" work. Prices range from $25. and up, with most being 50. to 75. Most of the original Zorro daily strip art is unavailable. Some later Sundays, with color guide, are available for $100.

Check my checklist, if I ever get it posted.

Thanks for visiting, come back any time, stay as long as you like, we're always open.
