Valiant Are Bringing Us An Origin Story In Eternal Warrior: Awakening #1 In May

This 25th Anniversary one-shot from Valiant is going to explore the early days of the Eternal Warrior, helping further fill in the history of a major character. Eternal Warrior: Awakening will be written by Robert Venditti (Hal Jordan & The Green Lantern Corps) and drawn by Renato Guedes (Bloodshot Reborn, Wolverine). The story is set to explore Gilad’s experiences “at the dawn of civilization”.
Valiant describe the plot as:
On the brink of carving out victory in the most violent battle of his life, Gilad Anni-Padda suffers a devastating injury. He awakens weeks later in a strange land, nursed back to health but with no memory of his past. A tribe has shown him compassion in an age of cruelty, and he will return their gift in kind. Now the real violence will begin…

Eternal Warrior: Awakening #1 will arrive on May 10th.
In April, Valiant are kicking off their 25th Anniversary celebration with a one-shot by writer Fred Van Lente (Archer & Armstrong) and artist Cary Nord (X-O Manowar), Immortal Brothers: Tale of the Green Knight #1, a 48-page special set in Arthurian times with Archer & Armstrong, the Eternal Warrior, and Ivar, Timewalker.
Valiant will also be releasing two more one-shots in 2017 to commemorate their anniversary.
