by Staff
Drawn + Quarterly cartoonists are hitting the road to celebrate their new releases. In addition to the Michael DeForge events we already mentioned here on Comicon.com, R. Sikoryak will be touring for his hilarious new book Terms and Conditions, which presents the iTunes contract in every imaginable comic style, and Peter Bagge will be touring to sign his new biography Fire! The Zora Neale Hurston Story, illuminating the life of an influential force in the Harlem Renaissance.
R. Sikoryak’s tour for Terms And Conditions will span the East Coast from Toronto to Baltimore. Sikoryak will be giving a presentation on the process behind creating the book, as well as doing a book signing. The book will be available in shops on March 7th. You can check out our review of the book here.
Drawn + Quarterly say:
New Yorker cartoonist R. Sikoryak launches his latest graphic novel, Terms and Conditions. For this project, Sikoryak tackles an infamously dense legal document, the iTunes Terms and Conditions. In a word for word 94-page adaptation, Sikoryak hilariously turns the agreement on its head – each page features an avatar of Apple cofounder Steve Jobs juxtaposed with a different classic strip such as Mort Walker’s Beetle Bailey, or a contemporary graphic novel such as Craig Thompson’s Blankets, Marjane Satrapi’s Persepolis, or Kate Beaton’s Hark! A Vagrant.

Drawn + Quarterly say:
The author of the New York Times-bestselling graphic novel Woman Rebel: The Margaret Sanger Story returns with another extraordinary account of a woman way ahead of her time. In his newest biography Fire!! The Zora Neale Hurston Story, cartoonist Peter Bagge delves into the world of Zora Neale Hurston: the critically-acclaimed novelist and folklorist who challenged the norms of what was expected of an African American woman in early 20th century society. With a skilled cartooning hand, Bagge creates a bold and dazzling graphic novel, a story as vibrant as the life itself.
