The Triumph Of Color And Design – Walking Through Artist’s Alley At WonderCon
by Staff
Visiting Artist’s Alley at WonderCon this year was different to any Artist’s Alley I had encountered in quite awhile–but that’s a basic principle. Exhibiting artists at conventions are often local and the experience will vary wildly depending on locale–which is part of the fun of traveling to shows that are geographically far from what you’re used to. At WonderCon, I got the sense that many of the artists were illustrators or poster artists working on fine-art style pop culture commissions as much as on comic art. And the results were highly visible and very impressive. I felt more awash will color and design than at other conventions I’ve been to, and it really reminded me that I was in Anaheim, California, near LA.
