‘Women’s Voices Will Be Heard’ – Submit Your Comics To RESIST! Vol. 2 By April 28th

by Staff

RESIST! is a publication that was founded by Gabe Fowler of Desert Island Comics in Brooklyn, New York, editor Françoise Mouly, and writer Nadja Spiegelman to bring together comics in response to the current presidency ahead of Inauguration Day last winter. Thousands of copies of the broadsheet-style anthology were distributed during that weekend on the Washington Mall and all over the country.
RESIST! is also a digital publication, with comics appearing on their website, so keep that in mind. But if you are longing to be part of a print version, RESIST! have also announced that they are gathering material for Volume 2.
The deadline for submission is April 28th, 2017. The theme is “Grab Back” and Volume 2 will be published this summer.

RESIST! says:
“Women’s Voices Will be Heard!” is and remains our central slogan. So many of our values are being challenged, every recent news headline can be a starting point for resistance.
Here are topics to spark your creativity: My Body, My Choice / If you think I’m a nasty woman, wait till I raise my daughter / Gay and Trans Rights / Build the Wall / Black Lives Matter /  Russia / It’s the Economy, Stupid / Lock him up! / The War on Science / Education and Democracy / Climate Change / Everyone is Welcome Here
RESIST! Volume 2 will still be short-run web on newsprint, but that issue will be digest/comic book size, 7.25″ x 10.5″.
Anyone can submit comics or illustrated graphics to RESIST! though women and minorities are especially encouraged.
Images should be uploaded through the form on our site. They must be under 10mb, JPEG preferred (please no PDFs). We will contact you if we need a high-res. We cannot accept images sent via email.

If you have any questions, you can reach us at resistsubmission@gmail.com. We will not be able to respond individually to submissions. We thank you for your patience as we put Vol. 2 together.
If you’d like to be part of RESIST! Vol. 2, you can submit through their website. If you’d like to simply support RESIST!, follow their website for digitally posted comics, subscribe to their newsletter, and keep informed about when and where Vol. 2 will be distributed.
