Three Hackers, Superpowers And One Last Job – Generation Gone Arrives In July
by Staff
As announced back at the Image Announcements Panel at Emerald City Comic Con, Ales Kot, Andre Araujo, and Chris O’Halloran have a new series coming up–Generation Gone. May’s Previews catalogue now lists the arrival of the series on July 19th. The series will also be lettered by Clayton Cowles and designed by Tom Muller.
Generation Gone is set in the year 2020 and features three hackers who fall in with a “secretive scientist with a plan” and agree to do “one final job”. Described as a combination of the show Skins and the film Unbreakable in concept, the series also includes “multiple trips to the sun, weird black goo, a breakup fight inside a nuclear factory, love, hate, anger, loss…and survival”.
The book is dedicated to “every kid struggling out there” by the creative team, and even though it’s set a little ways in the future, the comic is about being young in the USA in 2017.
At the Image Announcement Panel, Kot also described the comic as “about a bunch of kids getting super powers suddenly as they are about to rob a bank. It’s like Unbreakable meets Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind”
