Groot is getting his own series from Marvel Comics, testifying to the success of the characters, now towering above other Guardians of the Galaxy in the merchandising for the new film opening this week. I am Groot is written by Christopher Hastings (The Unbelievable Gwenpool) and drawn by Flaviano (Power Man and Iron Fist), and spins out of the events of the All-New Guardians of the Galaxy series.
Posed with a problem, that Groot doesn’t seem to be growing back to full size the way he has been expected to, and with a development, that he’s been separated very far away from his team, be prepared for adorable Groot in danger and plenty of drama. Finding an alien planet with a civilization and its own issues, but no one who can understand him, little Groot has to find a way back to his team. The first issue of I Am Groot arrives on May 24th.
