Looking At IDW’s Free Comic Book Day Titles – Star Trek: TNG And TMNT Take Us To The Stars
by Staff
IDW will be releasing two titles for Free Comic Book Day this Saturday, May 6th, and while both are all-ages appropriate, they set you up for very different adventures in comics. One will take you into the darker corners of space exploration, and the other might convince you to order a pizza, well maybe after some adventures.
The first will feature Star Trek: The Next Generation in “Mirror Broken”. Written by Scott Tipton and David Tipton, and drawn by J.K. Woodward, the comic returns to the “mirror universe” where a grim crew explores the stars to capture and enslave on the I.S.S Enterprise. This comic is a prequel to the upcoming Star Trek: The Next Generation miniseries, Mirror Broken. In this dark reality, Captain Jean-Luc Picard will “stop at nothing to get his hands on the Terran Empire’s newest starship, the Enterprise-D”.

IDW’s second Free Comic Book Day title is also a prequel to the upcoming TMNT: Dimension X 5-week event happening this August.

So, both titles from IDW are taking to the stars, and both are likely to make you see these characters in a new light. Both also set us up for big developments in these properties in upcoming IDW books, a smart move from the publisher to get us thinking about the possibilities of these plotlines.
Find both these books at your local comic shop on Free Comic Book Day, this Saturday, May 6th.
