DC Gears Up For Wonder Woman Day On June 3rd Via Retailer Participation And Online Events

DC Entertainment has announced their first celebration of Wonder Woman on “Wonder Woman Day”, taking place on June 3rd, during the opening weekend for the Wonder Woman film.
According to DC, the celebration will “honor the 75-year legacy of the Amazon Princess” with festivities in the USA and around the world.
Over 2,000 comic retailers, bookstores, libraries and other partners are going to be hosting “Wonder Woman Day” events, including distributing free copies of two special edition issues to fans.
Wonder Woman Day Special Edition #1 reprints Wonder Woman #1 by Greg Rucka and Liam Sharp.
For younger readers, Super Hero Girls Wonder Woman Day Special Edition #1 will feature a chapter from the upcoming DC Superhero Girls Vol. 3: Summer Olympus, by Shea Fontana and Yancey Labat.
DC has teamed up with retail partners including, Barnes & Noble, Books-A-Million, Walmart, Costco and Amazon for exclusive in-store and digital promotions also. Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and Warner Bros. Consumer Products, as well as Six Flags Theme Parks will also be honoring Wonder Woman that day.
Several comic writers and artists will also participate in special events to mark “Wonder Woman Day,” including Greg Rucka, Phil Jimenez, Cliff Chiang, Shea Fontana, Marc Andreyko, and Cat Staggs. Exclusive Wonder Woman tiaras and bracelets will also be available at select retailers.
Counting down to “Wonder Woman Day,” DC All Access will host a Wonder Woman Week series of segments from May 29-June 3. The six-day Wonder Woman takeover will spotlight books, sit down with key talent from the Wonder Woman film, and also discuss the iconic character’s legacy with comic writers and artists.
Fans can download the official “Wonder Woman Day” activity kit, including comic book activity sheets, coloring pages, trivia, and games.
Readers can also take advantage of discounts on digital comics at readdcentertainment.com and in the DC Comics app, where 100 digital comics and eBooks will be on sale starting May 30th.
