Mondo Bring 2001: A Space Odyssey, Labyrinth, Samurai Jack, Contra, And More To SDCC ’17

by Olly MacNamee

The Mondo business model seems to be a winning formula. Releasing a low run of screen printed posters homaging/promoting films at random times from outstanding artists has resulted in a strong fanbase that, I am sure, will only grow and grow given the right amount of exposure.
I’ve become a recent convert myself, I must admit. And, surely there can’t be any bigger exposure for such an outlet than SDCC. This year, you’ll find them at booth #835 with some lovely loot on offer, much of which won’t even be revealed ahead of time if the pixelated images on their website are anything to go by.
With work from Phantom Creatives, Eric Powell (The Goon), Richey Beckett and so many others, I imagine this will be one hot ticket if you’re able to get to the booth and grab an exclusive.
With prints for 2001: A Space Odyssey, Labyrinth, Samurai Jack, and Attack on Titan, as well as a a Contra soundtrack, featuring audio from the NES and ARCADE Versions of the game and pressed on 180 Gram Tri-Color (Yellow, Orange, Red) Vinyl, and the launch of John Carpenter’s The Thing board game, it may well be worth the wait in line for these items.
See for yourself with some of Mondo’s offerings below and, if you are going, best of luck. I don’t think my bank manger would be too happy with me if I was there. Maybe next year?
