Peter Cullen Returns As Optimus Prime In Titans Return
by Erik Amaya
Peter Cullen’s definitive Optimus Prime returns to battle for freedom once more in Machinima’s upcoming Transformers: Titans Return animated series.
The second part of Habsro and Machinima’s Prime Wars trilogy, Titans Return picks up where Transformers: Combiner Wars left off. As enormous Transformers called Titans are awakened, Trypticon — a gigantic lizard-like Transformer — rises to wreak havoc on Cybertron. Meanwhile Windblade (Abby Trott) and a rag-tag team of Transformers must resurrect an ancient ally. Not all Transformers will survive, as beloved heroes are changed forever while others’ sparks are blown to oblivion.
The series will also reintroduce a number of fan-favorite Transformers characters, including Hot Rod. Well, he’s certainly one of my favorites. What’s more, he’ll be voiced by Judd Nelson, who first portrayed the impulsive young Autobot in 1986’s Transformers: The Movie. Getting both original TV Primes to reprise their roles is pretty cool.
Other returning characters from the classic series include Fortress Maximus, Perceptor, and Metroplex, now voiced by Michael Dorn, Wil Wheaton and Nolan North, respectively. Fortress Maximus and Metroplex, both transforming cities, are certainly big guns, but Trypticon is a worthy opponent. Might Morphin’ Power Rangers‘ Jason David Frank is also on board as the Titan Master called Emissary, while MatPat, Rob Dyke, and Tay Zonday join the the cast as Computron, Devastator and the Chorus of the Primes. A number of Combiner Wars talent also return, including Trott, Jason Marnocha as Megatron, Frank Todaro as Starscream, Lana McKissack as the Mistress of Flame, and DashieGames as Menasor.
Titans Return premieres on go90 in November.
