The First Volume Of Texas Vampire Tale Redneck Will Arrive For Halloween

by Hannah Means Shannon

Smart publishers are taking advantage of timing horror books to Halloween this year–Mike Mignola’s new book with Warwick Johnson Cadwell, Mr. Higgins Comics Home, will also arrive on October 25th, 2017 with a bookstore arrival of October 31st.

Writer Donny Cates (God Country, Buzz Kill, Atomahawk) and artist Lisandro Estherren are bringing the first volume of their Texas-set vampire tale Redneck to print, collecting issues #1-6 of the Skybound series that is ongoing.
Set deep in the heart of Texas, Redneck follows The Bowmans, a family of vampires who have quietly run the local barbecue joint in their small town for years, living off cow blood. Their peaceful coexistence ends as generations of hate, fear, and bad blood bubble to the surface–“making it impossible to separate man from monster”.
The Redneck trade paperback (ISBN: 978-1-5343-0331-7, Diamond Code AUG170579) will hit stores on Wednesday, October 25th. The final order cutoff deadline for retailers is Monday, September 4th.
It will be available in bookstores on Halloween, Tuesday, October 31st, and can be pre-ordered now on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, IndieBound, and Indigo.
