Dr. Strange Warns Thor Of His Destiny In Thor: Ragnarok Japanese Trailer

by Erik Amaya

Japanese trailers for American tentpole releases have a certain extra edge to them. But when you have a movie like Thor: Ragnarok, which is already quite mad, the result is something magical.

Oh, and speaking of magic, Dr. Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) has a few words for Thor:

While still substantially the same trailer as the one Marvel released in July, it is slightly faster and there’s something about the breathless announcer that makes this all the more fun to watch. That said, no Thor film has ever looked as exciting as this one. From it’s confidence in its sci-fi premise to the cast of characters to the glimpses of Cate Blanchett’s Hela, it looks like a fun ride. Oh, also, that synthwave style music backing both trailers up really sets it apart from the other Marvel films. I hope some of that style appears in the film’s real score.

Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters in the US and Japan on November 3rd.
