Teen Snark, Heavy Rock, And Weed – The Harcourt Legacy From Action Lab

by Hannah Means Shannon

Action Lab describes new series The Harcourt Legacy, which lands in November 2017 as:

An occult family drama that contains teen snark, heavy rock, weed smoking, and some swears.

So, yeah, it has earned its “T+” category on the cover, but it also looks darkly entertaining, a kind of skewed and revamped take on Dark Shadows, perhaps?

In The Harcourt Legacy, occultist Edward Harcourt is dying, and he wants to pass along his secrets. His intended heir is his grandniece Violet, but that’s a problem for his sister Edwina, who wants to keep his legacy for herself. As for Violet, all she wants is some harmony in her troubled family life. If magic could be a solution to her problems, is it worth pursuing?

The miniseries is a three-issue story that “provides a self-contained experience”, according to Action Lab.
Here’s our advance look at the interior art on the first issue:

Illustrated by Jason Federhenn (Pecking Order, Dead Guys) and Josh Burcham (Samurai Jack, Transformers), and written by Brendan Cahill, the first issue of the series will arrive in shops on November 8th, and can be pre-ordered now with the following codes:
