Kill the Minotaur Lands At Universal
by Erik Amaya
Christian Cantamessa and Chris Pasetto’s Kill the Minotaur has begun the path to becoming a Universal feature film.
The studio will produce a feature adaptation of the comic book alongside Robert Kirkman’s Skybound Entertainment, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Described as “a modern and fantastical take on the ancient Greek myth of Theseus and the Minotaur,” it centers on the re-imagined hero, who enters an expanded version of the Minoan Labyrinth to kill the Minotaur. But the Minotaur has his own nefarious plans for the world above. The series launched in June.
“When we created the comic we wanted to put our own spin on a classic Greek myth, incorporating strong relatable characters and spectacular scenes so it would read like a blockbuster movie,” said Pasetto and Cantamessa in a statement to THR. “It’s a dream come true that we can now make this story come alive on the big screen.”
Cantamessa and Pasetto are set to write the initial script.
