The Punisher Declares A November Launch Date; New Trailer Released

by Erik Amaya

After all the strange — and strained — secrecy, Netflix has announced that The Punisher will debut on November 17th.
The series stars Jon Bernthal, reprising his Daredevil role as Frank Castle. And as a new trailer reveals, Castle life has been out of his control for a very long time. When he learns the truth about the death of his wife and daughter, he resolves to punish the men who have been pulling the strings since a bad operation in Afghanistan. And this time, it looks as though Karen Page (Deborah Ann Woll) will not be able to talk him down from his grim mission. Amber Rose Revah also stars as a Homeland Security agent searching for Frank and the the thread of truth he may be carrying.

The series was set to debut at least a few episodes during New York Comic Con, but Netflix and Marvel made the wise choice to delay the series following the mass shooting in Las Vegas. Considering the series’ “lone man against the world” theme and Frank’s use of any gun he can find, that was definitely a wise decision. Sadly, the sensitivity to gun violence following the attack will be well-numbed by the time The Punisher debuts.
The Punisher comes to Netflix on November 17th.
